Uluru!

This past weekend Jolly and I flew to the middle of the Outback to a magical place called Uluru (Ayers Rock). It was one of the most amazing places I have been to in all my travels. Definitely the most remote and also the most serene. We saw the most spectacular display of stars and could see 4 planets lit up at the same time in the night sky - Mars, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn (we cold eve see the rings of Saturn through a telescope that was set up for us!).

Last day at Google

Sadly, I had my last day at Google on March 16th. It was such an amazing experience and truly the BEST place to work. I have made so many wonderful friends, seeing them every day is what I will miss most about leaving Sydney:

My home away from home

Dinner at Barrio Chino

Ladies of Ad Ops

As always, my partners in crime - Michael and Charlie!

Mardi Gras!

Google had an awesome float in the Sydney Mardi Gras parade this year and I was super lucky to be able to be in the parade and dance along behind the float (you know I will pretty much do anything that involves dancing!). It was also a chance to dress up as colorful and crazy as possible and you know I love any reason to dress up!

Fadhila and Chris's wedding!

My beautiful co-worker Fadhila was married this past February to the wonderful Chris. It was a traditional Indonesia wedding and all us Googler's went to the reception. She came out in the traditional Indonesia wedding dress and preformed a traditional dance with her bridesmaids. Then she did a quick change to a more traditional western dress and sang for her new husband.

Byron Bay weekend

I took a quick weekend trip up to Byron Bay with Michelle and Jolly a month ago. I drove on the other side of the road for the first time since I've been in Australia. Jolly and I drove up the coast to watch the first contest in the ASP world tour at Snapper. Here's a few pic's:

Sydney Festival

The Sydney Festival is going on right now, which is a giant celebration of the arts: Music, Theater, Dance, Film, you name it. I went to the opening weekend where DJ Norman Jay played for 8 hours in Hyde Park. We sat on the grass, sipped some wine and watched hundreds of people pretty much just having a rave in the middle of the city. This past weekend I went with Jolly, Michael and Casey to watch Monde Cone (aka Mike Patton form Faith No More) sing some Italian pop in the Domain (a large park near the Opera House and botanical gardens, not a bad venue!). It was crazy weather and we got poured on, but it was such an awesome night. I love it when the weather is warm, but it rains, sounds cheesy, but it adds a bit of magic in the air. My pic's of Monde Cane aren't that great since they are from the jumbo tv's, but he had an awesome white suit, a al "Saturday Night Fever" and super slicked back hair, smoooooth:

Mondo Cane - lovely picnic, calm before the storm

Ominous clouds

Here comes the rain, but we are prepared!

Jolly was ready to go at this point. I think she looks like a little chick in the pic, so cute!

New Years

New Years was pretty awesome in Sydney. My brother was in town, but unfortunately since I procrastinated in buying tix for the venue he went to, I wasn't able to spend it with him :(. And none of my pictures of the fire works came out from where I was watching. I only have a few from my friend Michaels party that I went to before going to the city for the fireworks. It was Mexican themed and awesome:

Christmas in BrisVegas

I was lucky enough to be able to spend the Christmas holidays with my friend Renee and her sister Tanya up north in Brisbane. We did a lot of traveling that weekend, from Brisbane to Noosa, Lennox Head to Ballina and Byron Bay. There were a couple of Cyclones near New Zealand that were causing some massive waves to hit the shores, they were so powerful and loud, but beautiful to watch. On Christmas day we visited Renee's father in Beechmere where I got to horseback ride on the beach!

Stormy beach

Christmas camp fire

Tanya's homemade Christmas crackers!

Saw these massive kangaroo's on the way back from the beach.

Hunter Valley

I took a trip to the Hunter Valley wine country in December with my friend Michelle. It was a great weekend getaway with delicious wine, yummy cheese tasting and beautiful countryside!

Google Holiday party

I haven't posted anything in awhile, the end of the year kind of got a bit hectic, as it does. Now that the new year has slowed down a bit I have a few posts for some of the events of the last 2 months. First was the Google Holiday party. It was a black and white theme, I went as a magician (mainly so I could wear the hat):
