Polo with the Prince

Besides being a bit homesick, the other reason I came home this weekend was to go with Sheila to see Prince William play polo in Santa Barbara. Sheila and I have been going to the polo matches in Carpenteria for years and I was not going to miss the chance to see Prince Willie. And although the tix were a bit pricy, we def got our moneys worth at the bar :).

Heading out to the polo game in our big hats!

On the shuttle bus over to the playing filed

We had to line up and have our bags sniffed by a K-9 puppy to ensure we did not try to sneak anything illegal or hazardous in, we are such rif raf.

First drink, of many, at the bar - Bloody Mary! It was my 11am brunch cocktail.

The Duke and Duchess arriving via helicopter.

Scotch, Scotch, Scotch...

Not every man can pull of burnt orange - well done sir.

Giada made it over to slum it with the rif raf for a bit (she created the lunch menu for our side and did the lunch on the VIP side as well).

Prince William - #4

Final cocktails of the day - Pierre Jouet Champagne! Yum!

Duchess Catherine handing out the Tiffany prizes, sorry for the bad photo quality - still need a new camera!

Home, Sweet Home...

I made a quick trip home last weekend, and by quick I mean 3 days. I was feeling a bit homesick and had a date with Prince William at a polo match (see next post). It was pretty full on and I can't wait to come back in October for an extended vacay. Here are some photos from my mini-break:

Lisa came up from SD for a quick visit

Happy hour cocktails with your girlfriends, what could be better!

Heading to dinner with Brad and Sheila

9 to 5

Just thought I would share a few snapshots from work. Our building is right on the water in Pyrmont. We have amazing views of Sydney CBD and the Harbor Bridge. Believe me I know how lucky I am to go to work every day with a view like this:

View from my desk

To my left: my co-worker Charlie

View from Charlie's desk :)

View right out side our office

Taking a stroll around the building. Sydney CBD in the background. These are my co-workers: Charlie (red shirt), Lisa and Michael (you may remember him from the karaoke post).

Byron Bay

I took a quick trip up to Byron Bay with Renee a couple of weekends ago. The weather was not too spectacular, and Renee ended up with a case of food poisoning :(. But it was nice little break from the city and I look forward to returning for some sunshine, a hike to the light house, yoga on the beach and maybe a little debauchery at the Cheek Monkey - those will be some interesting photos. Until then, here are a few pic's from the weekend:

On my way to Brisbane, Friday night, raining outside in Sydney

Driving down to Byron with Renee!

Hat shopping for hats for the upcoming polo match (more on that in future post)!

Renee wasn't feeling well so I stocked up on essentials for a night in, ice cream and beer.

No ice cream or beer for Renee :(

Byron Bay markets on Sunday - Sun finally came out

Heading back to Sydney, feathers in my hair from the markets :)
