Thanksgiving Down Unda'

This is the first year in my life that I have not been home for Thanksgiving. I decided that to alleviate a bit of the homesickness during the holiday season, I would cook a turkey dinner for my co-workers. There were many who did not think I would be able to pull it off, but I must say I ended up doing an awesome job. They don't have 20lb turkey's in Oz this time of year, so I ended up with the smallest turkey I have ever seen, 7lbs! I didn't think it would be enough to feed everyone, but Michelle assured me it would.

Michelle and I spent Friday night, and all Saturday afternoon, preparing and cooking a lovely dinner of turkey, stuffing (my grandpa's recipe!), green beans, garlic mash potatoes, roast carrots, shrimp and veggie skewers (seriously, shrimp on the barbie!), an awesome cheese plate and delicious Black Forest cupcakes! A-mazing!

Sculptures by the Sea - Bondi

I've recently moved back to Bondi Beach after spending the winter in Paddington and a small stint in Pyrmont. I'm really excited to be back at the beach for the summer and am looking forward to lazy days in on the sand.

My first weekend back at Bondi two of my girlfriends from work, Michelle and Jolly, came out to the beach to check out Sculptures by the Sea. This event takes place every year around this time and showcases large scale sculptures along the coast from Bondi to Tamarama beach. Pic's below!

Mt Hutt - New Zealand

This past weekend I was down in New Zealand on a little snowboarding trip with Renee and her awesome friends from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. We stayed in this cute little town called Methven at the base of Mt Hutt. I haven’t been snowboarding in TEN years, so I was a bit worried I would eat it big time. It turned out to be an awesome time and I was doing fine until the afternoon of the second day when I fell back straight down onto my tailbone. I tried for one more run down the easy slope, but pretty much just slid down the whole way on my butt, which was a bad idea. Still nursing a bum bum and using one of those doughnut pillow cushions at work to help the pressure. I look and feel like an ass, but it was totally worth it! I had the best time and can’t wait to go again! New Zealand was absolutely beautiful and serene. I haven’t felt so calm in a place in a long time. Looking forward to getting back over there sometime in the next few months to explore both islands and get some pictures of the sheep close up. They are everywhere!

I always start a trip with a pic of me on the plane, ready to take off. It was freaking bright outside, so I needed to have the shades on, since you have to keep the window covers up - not cause I think I am cool.

Sheeeeppp!!

Geared up and ready to go!
